FORGE claimed first place in the Future Internet Assembly (FIA 2014) Poster awards. Competition for this award is very stiff as over 150 projects are eligible to enter. FIA 2014 took place in Athens, Greece and it attracted over 750 attendees incorporating the leaders of over 150 European projects worth more than half a billion Euros.
NetFutures 2015 featured the Perfect Pitch Panel, where eight projects each selected by the head of their home unit, competed against each other in terms of market readiness and take-up and overall economic and societal impact. Within this session, FORGE coordinator John Domingue gave a live demo of the FORGE iBook including the on-the-fly creation of a simulated internet on a shared area running on a KMi server and setting up and running internet experiments on iMinds w-iLab.t test facility running in Ghent. FORGE was awarded the ‘Hottest Pitch’ prize, which was presented by Net Futures Director Mario Campolargo .
